Debbie - Whitewater Consultant
Debbie was born in Baltimore, MD and now as a Reservationist Manager, she resides close to the Corporate Office. She has been with Appalachian Wildwaters for 19 years. Debbie applied for the job of reservationist after being relocated to the town of Rowlesburg in 1985, because of the flood. Working on the schedule for the following year, keeps her busy during the winter. Debbie's interests include collecting smiley faces, and taking care of the flowers in office and at home, watching the sun set, and late night swimming in the river. Favorite river story "I enjoyed an afternoon of horseback riding so much the day before that I fell asleep, on the Upper New River trip that I took the next day." Best special skill: being able to sleep on a raft without falling out!
Kris - Whitewater Consultant
Kris has been working hard at Appalachian Wildwaters for over 9 years. By day she is a mild mannered reservationist, but by night she is a town council woman/superhero bringing evil doers in Rowlesburg to justice. Just kidding. Nine Years here has provided Kris with many memories of rafting. However her favorite would be rafting down a river and swimming during the flat water section. Yes you read that right, the flat water. During her swim she flapped her arms uselessly and tried not to show a group of boy scouts a tad more than they should see. During her free time, you can find Kris riding the open road with her husband, on their Harley. She also can be found traveling the numerous back roads of Preston County with Miranda and Teresa, hitting birds and backing in to trees. On a good day, you can find Kris getting down to her favorite song "Solider" by Destiny's Child. "Where they at? Where they at?"
Lori - Whitewater Consultant
Lori has been with Appalachian Wildwaters for 6 years! She is the Vacation Vixen! Lori likes to ride 4-wheelers, hunt and fish, swimming in her pool and going to the movies. If she's not at work, you'll find her shopping for a bargain. In the winter you could see her cleaning, shoveling snow or marketing. She likes the hot tub and peacefulness of the Appalachian Wildwaters outpost. This whitewater consultant also loves to go rafting during "work hours" and asks that "you always request that your reservationist go rafting with you."
Summer- Whitewater Consultant
Summer has been working for Appalachain Wildwaters for a total of 10 years as a reservationist and a customer service representative. In 1987 she took her first run on the Cheat River and has been addicted to whitewater ever since. She is the proud mother of two daughters Ayla and Shiona, who have the love of the water in their blood. Hmm…It must run in the family.
In order to be happy,
Summer’s philosophy is to “Live like you are dying.
No worries, all smiles.” She loves to hike, camp, explore,
and spend time with her friends and family. In working
for AW, she has gained a huge family. She has lots of
memories of rafting with that family, and her most recent was
watching her daughter take her own Thrillkitty on the Upper
New and run Surprise rapid like a pro.
Nicole - Whitewater Consultant
Nicole has an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Garrett College. She has been with Appalachian Wildwaters, on and off again, since 1998. Her interests and hobbies include getting new tattoos, scaring her fellow employees and making everyone laugh. Nicole has always been interested in rafting and kayaking after growing up close to the Cheat River. Her favorite river story comes from the first time she rafted the Cheat Canyon, one fateful Ice Breaker Weekend. Recovering from pneumonia 2 weeks prior, Nicole was close to having a confirmed case of hyperthermia. Not that it stops her from rafting. Her favorite river trip: being on the Lower New One Day and pushing her sister and brother out of the raft. In the winter time you'll find Nicole working to keep the website updated and working on her new house.
Denisha - Customer Service Representative
After Kris hounded her for weeks to fill out an application, Denisha has been working with Appalachian Wildwaters for 5 years. Two weeks after she was hired she started working in the Data Processing and Shipping Office and has been there ever since. With a Bachelor's Degree from DeVry University in Business Administrative with a minor in Accounting, plus a Secretarial Certificate, she makes the perfect candidate.
In the winter you'll see Denisha trying to get caught up on all the paper work she has. Her favorite trips are the Upper New One Day and the Lower Pigeon Express. She loves relaxing in a thrillkat, on a clear sunny day, on the river.
