Dan "The Man" Stewart, a native of Western North Carolina, has been working as a river guide for our company on and off since 1994. In 1998 at the age of 26, he began guiding on the New and Gauley Rivers in West Virginia. Currently he is our Facilities Manager at our New and Gauley Outpost, and is the big cheese behind Raftblog.com.

According to Dan, "There is so much to learn from the river. Being a guide teaches you to expect the unexpected, to think on your feet, and to live by your wits. When you are on the river you have the opportunity to interact with a force of nature. To be a part of that power is a guift and to share it with others is a privilege."
