Whitewater rafting is the perfect way to teach your Girl Scouts the benefits of the outdoors. We at Appalachian Wildwaters have dedicated ourselves to creating the most fulfilling outdoor experience possible. Your Girl Scouts can learn leadership skills and appreciation of nature, bond teams together and created a winning attitude through our whitewater programs.
Appalachian Wildwaters has over 35 years of experience in offering rafting adventures in the Appalachian Mountains of southern West Virginia. In addition to white water rafting we offer other outdoor adventure activities including mountain biking, horseback riding and rock climbing. Located just off US RT 19 in Fayetteville, WV with its numerous hiking trails right in our backyard, this area is a perfect setting for an outdoor camp for Girl Scouts.
The New River has two sections of whitewater; the Lower New (minimum age 12) is Adventure Class whitewater with fun, rollercoaster waves and great swimming sections. The Upper New (minimum age 6) is a Family Class whitewater with small playful waves, also available is the Middle Gauley (suggested age 12) is an Adventure Class rafting trip.
